WHAT IS HAPPENING IN 2010 IN THE EVANSBURG, ENTWISTLE, AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITY?

Chip Lake Ice Race

This is a must see event, as competitors from all over Alberta race motorbikes, and quads on sheer ice. This is a sanctioned event. Chip Lake is located west of Wildwood and is a bird sanctuary. It’s not a bad place to try ice fishing, as well.


Entwistle Elks Snow Golf and Supper

The Entwistle Elks run this event on the village streets, with all sorts of clubs being used. Then there is their famous steak barbeque.

Family Day Celebrations

Join the fun for the entire family at the Evansburg Arena. There is a pancake breakfast, crafts, a petting zoo and games for the kids, stage show and log sawing competition. Don’t miss the sleigh rides.

Goodtimers Hockey Draft

Lace up the skates and join in this senior hockey weekend. The draft is held on Friday night, and games run through the weekend. Enjoy great food and fun with a few hockey games sprinkled in.

Grand Trunk Variety Show

Our high school students put their talents up on stage in a show to thrill every age. Enjoy dance, singing, and skits that’ll have you rollin’ in the aisles.

The Grouch’s Ball

Our Evansview Elementary Parents Advisory Council hosts a dressy affair at the Legion Hall. The event has a live and silent auction to raise money for the elementary school. It’s a great supper followed by a live band. No jeans!


Seniors Tea

Seniors can enjoy an afternoon of sweets and tea, and entertainment provided by students and locals. Grand Trunk High School.

Senior high students go all out to celebrate the last of their high school years.


Wildwood Bronc Bustin”

Wildwood hosts this sanctioned event that brings together North America’s best saddleback riders. The stakes are high, and the fun lasts and lasts. Enjoy the stage show on Saturday night featuring a country recording star.


Rangeton Folk Festival

Rangeton Park is a hidden gem located north of Evansburg on the Pembina River. It has a glorious stage of big timber, and the camping is spectacular. Enjoy a weekend full of music and performers ranging from country to folk to blues to rock. Take in the Park Court Farmers Day dinner, just a few miles away.

Horseback Ride-A-Thon at Brightwood Ranch near Entwistle, AB.
Ride your horse or ours. Help send underprivileged kids to camp. To donate or for info on riding, contact the ranch at 1-780-727-3840.

Canada Day Celebrations

Entwistle hosts Friday evening fireworks, a Saturday parade at noon, and a variety of other games and events to celebrate Canada’s birthday.

Entwistle Rodeo

Here is another part of the homecoming events, a full event amateur rodeo that cannot be matched for fun and excitement. Be sure to get tickets for both days, as you’ll want more of the action! The rodeo grounds are in south Entwistle.


Pembina Nights

Enjoy a weekend of great folk music in the setting of the lovely Rangeton Park. Top notch entertainment—you’ll be surprised just how good. Hurry in early for a camping spot.


Chip Lake Music Festival

The scenic Chip Lake near Wildwood is the background setting for the Chip Lake Music Festival. Chip Lake has a nice camping area, and is a wonderful spot to get back to nature.

Band Ranch Rocks

The Band Ranch hosts a music festival in Rangeton Park, north of Evansburg. This festival appeals to anyone who likes music and camping—it’s the perfect combination.

Pembina Valley Daze

Join the village of Evansburg in their celebration. Friday night starts off with a car rally and steak barbeque at the Legion. Saturday morning has a pancake breakfast, parade, farmers market, fun and games, face painting and petting zoo. Enjoy the stage show and antique car show. A ball tournament and beach volleyball tournament run as well.

Lone Wolves Pembina River Run

Included in the PV Daze activities--the Lone Wolves Antique Hot Rod car club has been making its way to Evansburg’s main street for over 30 years. Enjoy a show and shine of over 100 cars, from noon to 4 p.m. on main on Saturday.


Wildwood Agricultural Fair

Enjoy an old-time atmosphere at the Wildwood Fair. Enjoy the judging of farm livestock, farm produce and grains, and arts and crafts. The parade and fair run Friday. It’s a must see!

Our communities honor the students who have graduated from GT High.

Help us celebrate our community’s diverse cultural heritage. Last year we had Oktoberfest. This year will celebrate the Korean traditions. Enjoy the exceptional food of the culture as well as dancing and entertainment.

The Legion hosts the Remembrance ceremony honoring our soldiers and servicemen, followed by a program and a meal.

Enjoy a great meal and dance and a huge live auction. Proceeds go to the Santa’s Anonymous Campaign. Wildwood hall is the sight of this event.

Main street Evansburg turns on the Christmas lights, and the kicks off the Holiday shopping season. Look for fantastic deals, Santa’s arrival, and sleigh rides.
